FAQs
Where are you based?
I am based in Sussex in the UK, but work with brides from all over the world, from France to the USA.
How does the bride start the process of working with you on her veil?
I offer a free initial design consultation through Instagram DM’s, Video / Zoom call, Phone / Whatsapp +44 7807 1313 66 or Email hello@tabithatextiles.co.uk
I absolutely adore meeting my bride’s and hearing your exciting ideas for personalisation!
How long does the design process take?
A simple monogram, for example Bride & Groom Initials and wedding date, typically around 2 - 4 weeks. For more bespoke designs I recommend allowing 3 - 4 months. If your wedding is fast approaching, but you would love a veil, don’t hesitate to contact me - I would love to do all that I can to make this possible for you in the time available.
Can you tell me more about the process of ordering?
As a Tabitha Textiles bride, the design process starts with me getting to know you, your ideas and inspirations in an initial consultation - a posh way of saying a relaxed chat!
You’ll receive a copy of my ‘Embroidery Services Guide’ and veil deposit info. To confirm your booking, a £100 deposit secures your space in my diary.
As a Tabitha Textiles bride you are also entitled to a free embroidery sample and tulle samples if you decide to have a bespoke made veil.
I will then produce a veil order proposal including a quote for the ‘embroidery service’ and ‘bespoke handmade veil’. During the initial consultation we’ll discuss different prices and options, which will be reflected in the proposal.
Once your proposal has been agreed (which includes final quote), I’ll start working on mock up designs of your veil embroidery, based on ideas stated in your proposal. This starts as initial hand drawings of your ideas ‘motifs’ which are translated into industry standard Wilcom digital embroidery software. You’ll receive copies of both of these, which once happy with, I’ll translate into a complete veil mock up.
At this stage, you may make amendments if necessary.
Once, the design is exactly as you’d like it, the making process of your bespoke veil can begin.
When your veil is finished, the final payment (as stated in the veil proposal, minus initial £100 deposit) will be due. Your veil will then be sent Royal Mail tracked and signed to your desired address. As with any payment, I always provide receipts for your records.
How do you create something personalised for a bride?
Each veil is made to order, designed collaboratively to the bride’s specifications. During the initial Design consultation, we discuss your ideas for personalised embroidery and handmade veil options including tulle and length. Sending collected images (drawings, photographs or Pinterest boards) and images of your wedding dress (if chosen!), will help me to guide you with the design process.
Do you embroider a veil that’s been bought elsewhere?
Yes! If you already have a veil or an heirloom veil, I offer a bespoke embroidery service adding embroidery to pre - bought wedding veils. Please get in touch to discuss individual requirements.
However, choosing a handmade, bespoke Tabitha Textiles veil allows the exciting opportunity to have your wedding accessory completely tailored to you, including choice of tulle, veil comb and length.
What length do veils come in? Can a bride have a bespoke length?
The most popular veils which work really beautifully with embroidery are Chapel (90”) and Cathedral (108”), however I can create a veil any length to suit your wedding look or adjust standard measurements (including fingertip, waltz length - there really so many possible lengths!). All veils can be made single tier or as a drop veil with a blusher. Get in touch for example photographs of veil styles!
At what stage in the wedding planning should a bride contact you?
As early as possible! If an embroidered veil is something you would love for your special day, leaving as much time as possible will allow for better involvement in the design process.
How much does a veil cost?
Price depends on the type of veil you choose, the length of the veil and amount of embroidery.
Please get in touch describing the type of veil / embroidery you are looking for, for a quote.
If you have a particular budget, it’s possible to work to your individual requirements and create your perfect veil tailored to your budget.
What tulle do you use?
All of my tulles for Tabitha Textiles handmade veils are sourced from premium bridal fabric suppliers. I currently offer soft tulle, super soft tulle, structured tulle and illusion tulle in both white and ivory. If you require a particular shade or style of tulle (for example blush or spot blush), I am able to source this at an additional cost from my supplier.
Once in the books, I am able to provide free samples, so that you can best match to your wedding dress and help you choose your favoured tulle.
